*Food: Resources, Education, Security, Health

F.R.E.S.H. is a local not-for-profit organization whose vision is
“broad participation in and universal access to a robust, productive, equitable, healthful and sustainable local food system in New London, Connecticut.” Be sure to check out the F.R.E.S.H. web site.

All Souls' Green Sanctuary Team has joined F.R.E.S.H. in their quest to make healthy, locally grown food available to all; especially those who can least afford it. Last summer, in a pilot community supported agriculture (CSA) program, shares of produce from the FRESH farm, which is located on the grounds of the Waterford Country School, were offered for purchase at All Souls. The folks who purchased shares received weekly distributions of locally grown, freshly havested vegetables from late June through October.

FRESH farm supplemented their weekly distributions with produce from other local farms, and leftover shares were donated to Covenant Shelter and the New London Meal Center.

The first season was a big success! Now we're beginning to plan for next year.
