Director of Religious Education ~ Position Available

All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation is located in the city of New London, in southeastern Connecticut. 
The congregation numbers 230 adult members. 
75 children and youth are enrolled in the Religious Education program. 

The position is a 32 hr/wk position including Sunday morning. 

The start date is August 1st, 2008.

Responsibilities:

Administration of religious education program for children and youth including:

• Teacher training and support; leadership coordination
• Communication with families and wider membership through newsletter column and other venues of contact
• Staying current with emerging curriculum and methodologies

Experience, Knowledge, Abilities:

• Must be a good listener and communicate effectively by both oral and written means
• Ability to motivate volunteers
• Uphold UU principles in all aspects of the program
• An education background is most desirable with significant experience working with children and youth.
